On July 1, 2024, with the blessing of Metropolitan Rostislav of Tomsk and Asinovsky, the official opening of the First All-Russian Student Conference with international participation "On the Holiness of the Church in different languages" took place in the assembly hall of the Tomsk Theological Seminary.
The conference was organized by the Tomsk Theological Seminary and the Foundation for the Support of Christian Culture and Heritage.
Metropolitan Rostislav of Tomsk and Asinovsky addressed the organizers, participants and guests of the conference with a welcoming speech.
At the plenary session, reports were presented by: – Rector of the Tomsk Theological Seminary, Candidate of Theology, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Theological and Historical Disciplines Archimandrite Joseph (Yeremenko) – "Holy Righteous John of Kronstadt and his theological legacy"; – Senior employee of the International Department of the Moscow Theological Academy Alexander Terentyev – "On the activities of the International Department of the Moscow Theological Academy"
- Ivan Ivanov, Senior employee of the International Department of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy – "The system of teaching foreign students in higher theological educational institutions of the Russian Orthodox Church (the experience of the St. Petersburg Theological Academy)".
The conference continued in the sections "The Legacy of the Orthodox Church on holiness" (moderated by the Vice–rector for Academic Affairs of the Tomsk Theological Seminary, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor Priest Vitaly Kollantai), as well as "The Image of the Saint through the hagiographic literature and theological works of Russian Saints" (moderated by Associate Professor of the Tomsk Theological Seminary, Doctor of Church History Deacon Sergius Kulpinov and the senior lecturer of the Tomsk Theological Seminary, Priest Anthony Slugin).
The conference will last until July 5th. On July 2 and 3, the conference participants will visit the Orthodox camp "Tabernacle".
The conference will end with a festive Divine Liturgy on the memorial day of St. Theodore of Tomsk.
