Russian Russian Language and Culture Association named after A.I. Solzhenitsyn with the support of the Russian Orthodox Church hosted the children's camp "Pilgrim" for the second time on August 2-16, 2022 in the vicinity of Ephesus in Turkey.
For the first time, "Pilgrim" gathered about 60 children in August 2021. This year, more than a hundred boys and girls have become participants in the project.
Russian Russian language and culture, the basics of the Orthodox faith were studied by the children, they were engaged in general physical training, practiced archery, orienteering, participated in mini-hikes. A theater workshop was organized in the camp, where the children studied the basics of public speaking and acting.
Among the campers there were not only children of compatriots living in Turkey, but also children from Turkish families.
On August 16, Priest Georgy Sergeyev, responsible for the care of the faithful of the Moscow Patriarchate in the territory of the Republic of Turkey, in the co-service of Priest Dimitri Bogatyr, who is the caregiver of the community of the Russian Orthodox Church in Alanya, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the "Pilgrim". After the service, the clergy held a conversation with the children and answered their questions.
At the closing ceremony of the camp, Priest George and the chairman of the Russian Society in Izmir, A. Ponomarev, presented each pupil with a certificate of participation in the work of the "Pilgrim" and a memorable gift.
