On November 10, the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade hosted a meeting between His Holiness Patriarch Porfiry of Serbia and Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate's Department for External Church Relations, who arrived in the Serbian capital on a working visit with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.
The meeting was also attended by Bishop Irinej of Baca, Vicar of His Holiness Patriarch of Serbia Bishop Savva of Morcana, Advisor to His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Archpriest Nikolai Balashov, rector of the Russian Orthodox Church in Belgrade Archpriest Vitaly Tarasyev, Acting Deputy Chairman of the DECR Archpriest Igor Yakimchuk and Secretary of the DECR Chairman Priest Alexander Ershov, as well as Executive Director of the Support Fund Christian culture and heritage of E.I. Skopenko.
In a warm atmosphere of mutual understanding, the parties discussed the situation in the Orthodox world, the state of relations between the Russian and Serbian Orthodox Churches and the prospects for their further development, as well as other topics of mutual interest.
His Holiness Patriarch Porfiry of Serbia and Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk exchanged memorable gifts.
After the meeting, a solemn dinner was given in the Patriarchate in honor of the delegation of the Russian Orthodox Church.
