Egor Skopenko, Executive Director of the Foundation for the Support of Christian Culture and Heritage, was awarded the medal of the Moscow Theological Academy (MDA) of the Russian Orthodox Church for his works and merits. The award was presented by the rector of the Academy and the vicar of the Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra, Bishop Kirill of Sergiev Posad and Dmitrov. Dmitry Rudkovsky, Deputy Executive Director of the Foundation, was awarded a large certificate of appreciation for fruitful cooperation with the MDA. The award ceremony took place on July 15, 2024 at the Academy.
How сообщается on the website of the Moscow Theological Academy, after the award ceremony, topical issues of cooperation between the Foundation and the Academy were discussed, a strategy for further interaction was developed and its most important semantic elements were identified. The Academy has proposed a number of projects related to the sphere of relations between Local Orthodox Churches, as well as involving representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church from foreign countries. The Executive Director of the Foundation also proposed a number of projects to optimize and implement cooperation.
After the discussion, representatives of the Foundation talked in a warm and friendly atmosphere with foreign students studying at the Moscow Theological Academy. Yegor Skopenko told the fellows about the Foundation and the principles of its work, and also stressed the openness of the Foundation to the consideration of projects and initiatives. Nun Elena (Nakhutsrishvili), a graduate of the MDA Master's Degree, representing the Georgian Orthodox Church, thanked the Foundation's management on behalf of all the fellows for their help and participation.
Help
The educational project, implemented by the Foundation for the Support of Christian Culture and Heritage and the Russian Orthodox Church, is aimed at providing assistance to foreign students receiving spiritual education in Russia. The project is currently being implemented at the Moscow and St. Petersburg Theological Academies, St. Tikhon's Orthodox University for the Humanities, Nikolo-Ugresh and Tomsk Theological Seminaries.
