A working visit of the delegation of the Foundation for the Support of Christian Culture and Heritage to Tanzania has begun

On January 23, 2025, a delegation from the Foundation for the Support of Christian Culture and Heritage, headed by Executive Director Egor Skopenko, arrived on a working visit to Dar es Salaam, the largest city in the United Republic of Tanzania.

In the afternoon, representatives of the Foundation, together with the Chairman of the Missionary Department of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa, Priest George Maximov, visited the Orthodox educational center in Kisarawa (a suburb of Dar es Salaam), where 27 people aged 15 to 20 are currently studying and living at full board. The center's activities are aimed at helping to prepare for the exams for obtaining a high school graduation certificate.

The Foundation provides support in financing student meals, accommodation in rented premises, salaries for teachers and staff, as well as in the purchase of the building where the center is currently located and classes are held. The acquisition of the building and nearby buildings will improve the learning and living conditions for students.

The delegation had a warm conversation with teachers and students, got acquainted with the conditions of their education and accommodation and presented them with memorable gifts.

At the end of the day, a meeting was held with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Tanzania Andrey Avetisyan and Head of the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Tanzania Alexander Evstigneev. During the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of the modern presence and prospects of Russian Orthodoxy on the African continent.
