On November 16, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated in Demre (Turkey), which was led by Priest Georgy Sergeyev, responsible for organizing the care of the flock of the Moscow Patriarchate in the territory of the Republic of Turkey.
The service was attended by priests Alexy Golovin and Dimitri Bogatyr, clerics of the Moscow Patriarchate, who are tending the communities of the Russian Orthodox Church in Antalya and Alanya.
Among the participants of the Liturgy were also clerics of the Moscow Patriarchate making a pilgrimage to the shrines of ancient Byzantium: Priest Mark Kravchenko, acting rector of the Church of St. John of Kronstadt in Zhulebino, Moscow, a military priest of the Central Cossack Army; Hieromonk Cornelius (Karipov), a resident of the Nikitsky Monastery in Pereslavl-Zalessky, and Protodeacon Oleg Krylov, a cleric the Church of St. John of Kronstadt in Zhulebino.
During the service, S.M. Vetrik, who recently began his diplomatic service as Consul General of the Russian Federation in Antalya, prayed with his wife, as well as pilgrims from different regions of Turkey, Orthodox believers from the Russian Federation and other countries who are on vacation in the Antalya region of the country.
At the end of the Liturgy, Priest George performed a prayer chant to St. Nicholas and addressed the faithful with a welcoming speech.
