Humanitarian aid was transferred with the participation of the Russian Orthodox Church to the Damascus school for children with disabilities

On November 1, 2021, a joint humanitarian action of the Representative Office of the Russian Orthodox Church and the Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Parties took place in Damascus. The representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to the Patriarch of Great Antioch and All the East, Hegumen Arseny (Sokolov) and the head of the Center, Rear Admiral V.F. Kulit, visited the Amal (Hope) school located in the Syrian capital, where children with musculoskeletal disorders study.

A batch of wheelchairs delivered from Russia and sweets for children were donated to the school.

This is the fourth batch of children's wheelchairs delivered to Syria with the participation of the Russian Orthodox Church. Specialized German-made equipment is purchased in Moscow by the staff of the Biblical Internet portal "Exeget" with the money of Canadian Orthodox benefactors of Russian origin and delivered to Syria by the All-Russian veteran organization "Combat Brotherhood", transport support was provided by the Ministry of Defense.

The director of the Amal School, Ferial Hamid, warmly thanked Father Arseny and Rear Admiral V.F. Kulit for their help. The pupils of the school performed a greeting song for the guests.
