The Days of Spiritual Culture of Russia in Bosnia and Herzegovina, organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Russian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, opened in Sarajevo and Banja Luka, the Global Orthodox edition reports with reference to balkanist.ru .
A concert of folklore groups from different regions of Russia and a photo exhibition of the Russian Geographical Society began a series of events in the Bosnian capital. And in the main city of the Republika Srpska, the exhibition "Shrines of ancient Novgorod" opened. Russian Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Igor Kalabukhov, speaking at the Sarajevo National Theater, with the support of which the Days of Spiritual Culture of Russia were organized, said that this event is the best way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In the foyer of the theater, the Ambassador together with the Minister of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ankica Gudelevich opened the exhibition "The most Beautiful Country" prepared by the Russian Geographical Society. 40 photos show the natural resources of Russia. The concert program included performances by the collective of performers of Russian and Balkan folk music "Dobranoch" from St. Petersburg, the folk ensemble of Adyghe musical instruments "Uj" and the State academic folk dance ensemble named after Faizi Gaskarov from Bashkortostan. The Sarajevo audience appreciated the selection of performers designed to demonstrate the versatility of the cultural traditions of the peoples of Russia who live peacefully in a multinational state. The surprise was the exit of the Adyghe artists to the square in front of the theater, where, despite the rain, they delighted the townspeople for several minutes with an incendiary lezginka to the applause of the audience.
On the same day in Banja Luka Igor Kalabukhov, Bishop of Banjaluk of the Serbian Orthodox Church Efrem and member of the Presidium of BiH from the Serbs Milorad Dodik opened the exhibition "Shrines of ancient Novgorod". The exhibition presents the works of the famous Novgorod icon painting school, created in the XI-XV centuries, as well as photos of the temples of Novgorod, where these icons are located. The exhibition will run in the cultural center "Bansky Dvor" until November 30. Bishop Ephraim, Igor Kalabukhov and Milorad Dodik also visited the construction site of the Russian-Serbian Cultural and Spiritual center and the Church of the Holy Royal Martyrs (Romanovs), which was laid in Banja Luka in September 2018. It is modeled on the Temple of the Miracle of the Archangel Michael, which was built in the Moscow Kremlin in 1358.
Russian Russian Orthodox Church thanked the leader of Serbs of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the free provision of the Kremlin temple project and said that the authorities of the Republika Srpska in 2020-2021 allocated 5 million euros for the construction of the Russian-Serbian center and temple.
