On July 5, 2024, on the memorial day of the finding of the relics of the holy righteous elder Theodore of Tomsk, Metropolitan Rostislav of Tomsk and Asinovsky, Bishop Innokenty of Mariinsky and Yurginsky, Bishop Anthony of Slavgorod and Kamensky, Bishop Zosima of Magnitogorsk and Verkhneuralsky, Bishop Kolpashevsky and Strezhevskaya Filaret celebrated the Divine Liturgy on the porch of the Kazan Church of our monastery in the open air.
The service was also attended by graduates of the Tomsk Theological Seminary in holy orders, the clergy of the Tomsk Metropolis and guests from other dioceses, including the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa.
During the divine service, Metropolitan Rostislav awarded the cleric of the Tomsk diocese, Priest Valery Maikov, the right to wear a loincloth.
The choir of the pastoral department of the seminary under the direction of the regent Nikita Pankratiev and the mixed choir under the direction of Igor Goncharov sang during the liturgy.
At the end of the Liturgy, a procession was made with the relics of the righteous elder Theodore to the intersection of Frunze Ave. and Krylov St., where a monument to the holy elder Theodore was unveiled near the place where his winter cell was. After the opening of the monument, Vladimir Vladimirovich Mazur, Governor of the Tomsk Region, addressed the participants of the procession with a brief speech. Then Metropolitan Rostislav spoke in response.
Recall that on July 1, the First All-Russian Student Conference with international participation "On the holiness of the Church in different languages" opened in Tomsk. The conference was the first international forum that brought together international students of the Moscow and St. Petersburg Theological Academies and Tomsk Theological Seminary.
