The Church of St. Sophia, the Wisdom of God, in Warsaw received funding from the Foundation for the Support of Christian Culture and Heritage to complete construction work and work on the interior painting of the temple. The Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, asked the Fund for funding.
The Church of St. Sophia, built in 2015-2020, became the third active Orthodox parish in Warsaw. During the anti-Orthodox policy of "polonization" in 1918-1939, most of the Orthodox churches in Warsaw were destroyed, so the St. Sophia Church is important for the Orthodox of the capital of Poland.
A team of Ukrainian icon painters acts as a performer of artistic works. The planned completion date is May 2022.
