On March 10, 2024, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, visited the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Lebanese Republic while in Beirut.
The guests of the embassy also included Metropolitan Silouan of the Mountains of Lebanon, representative of the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Metropolitan Niphon of Philippopolis, representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to the Patriarch of Great Antioch and All the East, rector of the Russian Orthodox Church in Beirut Archimandrite Philip (Vasiltsev), rector of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia Archimandrite Seraphim (Shemyatovsky), Deputy Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations Archpriest Igor Yakimchuk, Secretary of the DECR Chairman Deacon Nikolai Vasin, Executive Director of the Fund for the Support of Christian Culture and Heritage E.I. Skopenko, is in Moscow. The guests were warmly welcomed by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Lebanon A.N. Rudakov and his wife.
In honor of the arrival of the delegation of the Russian Orthodox Church, a dinner was given on behalf of the Ambassador of the Russian Federation. In memory of his visit to the embassy, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk presented A.N. Rudakov with a jewelry image of St. Mark of Ephesus. The DECR Chairman warmly thanked the Ambassador and the staff of the Russian diplomatic mission in Lebanon for their assistance in organizing and conducting the visit.
