On June 9, the day of the memory of the Holy Righteous John of Russian, a Divine Liturgy was served in the city of Urgup in Turkey (formerly Prokopion).
The service was held in the cave where the righteous John Russian lived while in Ottoman captivity. The priest responsible for the organization of the care of the faithful of the Moscow Patriarchate in the territory of the Republic of Turkey, Priest George Sergeyev, was served by clerics who perform the care of the communities of the Moscow Patriarchate in Turkey: Priest Alexy Golovin, who cares for the community of Antalya, priest Dimitri Bogatyr, who cares for the community of Alanya, and Hieromonk Palladium (Bystrov), who cares for the community at the nuclear power plant under construction in Akkuyu.
At the end of the Liturgy, the Akathist was read to St. John Russian.
More than 60 pilgrims who came from Ankara, Antalya, Alanya, Bursa, Samsun, and Russian specialists working at the Akkuyu NPP under construction prayed at the service. Russian Russian House's head in Ankara Alexander Sotnichenko and chief expert of the Russian House Andrey Ryzhenkov also took part in the pilgrimage trip.
