On December 19, the memorial day of St. Nicholas of Myra, Priest Georgy Sergeyev, responsible for organizing the care of the flock of the Moscow Patriarchate in the territory of the Republic of Turkey, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in Myra of Lycia (modern times). Demre).
Priest Alexy Golovin, who serves the communities of the Russian Orthodox Church in Antalya, Marmaris and Fethiye, took part in the service.
At the special litany, special petitions were offered, and a prayer for Holy Russia was also read.
More than 250 pilgrims from different regions of Turkey, as well as compatriots vacationing on the Antalya coast, prayed at the divine service.

Then a memorial service was held for A.G. Karlov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Turkey, who was killed by a terrorist on December 19, 2016 in Ankara. The meeting was attended by the Vice-Consul of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Antalya, A.E. Ryumkov.
The participants of the funeral service laid flowers at the monument to the Hero of Russia A.G. Karlov on the main street of Demre, named after the Russian diplomat.
