Russian Russian Abroad XV International Film Festival opened on November 7, 2021 at the Alexander Solzhenitsyn House of the Russian Abroad. The film festival will last until November 14.
This year, 51 films from nine countries of the world – Belarus, Belgium, Russia, Serbia, USA, Ukraine, Finland, France, Switzerland - are presented in the program of the film forum.
Some of the presented films are devoted to issues of faith and religion, in particular: "People from Bread" (2021, directed by F. Babenko) about the everyday life of the Orthodox community on the island of Mindanao in the Philippines, "The Nun Ambrose. Butovsky Requiem" (2020, directed by E.Krichko, 2020), which tells about the "Russian Golgotha" through the mouths of victims of repression and their loved ones.
The films "Orthodoxy in Japan", "The Bishop" (on the 55th anniversary of Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk), "Christmas Meeting with Metropolitan Laurus" about the fifth First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad, "Mother Mary" will also be presented as part of the out-of-competition program. Homecoming" (to the 125th anniversary of the birth of nun Maria (Skobtsova), "And no one will take away your joy from you..." (to the 130th anniversary of the birth of the Holy Martyr Pavel Ansimov), "The artist. About Sister Ioanna ..." (on the 150th anniversary of the birth of Archpriest Sergiy Bulgakov).
