Help
St. Seraphim of Sarov reposed on the night of January 2/15, 1833, in his cell, kneeling before the icon of the Mother of God.
In 1903, he was canonized with a huge gathering of people and the personal participation of Emperor Nicholas II.
In Soviet times, the relics of the saint were considered lost, but in 1991 they were found in museum storerooms and solemnly transferred to the Diveevsky Monastery, where they still rest today.
