Rudakov, members of the delegation of the Moscow Government visiting the Lebanese Republic, and the rector of the Russian Orthodox Church in Beirut Archimandrite Philip (Vasiltsev) visited the construction site of the church in honor of the Icon of the Mother of God "Unintentional Joy" being erected in the city of Zahle.
Metropolitan Niphon of Philippopolis, representative of the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, met the guests at the construction site of the new Orthodox church. The archpastor spoke about the progress of the construction of a temple in his small homeland in the Russian architectural traditions.
Deputy Head of the Department of Foreign Economic and International Relations of Moscow I.P. Tkach handed Metropolitan Niphon the altar cross for the future church, the website of the Russian Orthodox Church in Beirut reports.
Financial support for the construction of the church in honor of the Icon of the Mother of God "Unintentional Joy" in the city of Zahle is provided by the Foundation for the Support of Christian Culture and Heritage.
