A temple in honor of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary is planned to be built in the Hungarian city of Paks. The development of design estimates for the construction of an Orthodox church in the city of Paks, where Hungary's only nuclear power plant (NPP) operates, was funded by the Foundation for the Support of Christian Culture and Heritage.
The project is being implemented to support the initiative of the employees of the NPP in Hungary in terms of spiritual development, as well as for all Orthodox residents of the city of Paks.
Currently, the issue of allocating a land plot for the construction of a future temple is being worked out.
As [reported](https://paks.magyarortodox.com /) on the website of the Orthodox parish in Paksha, on December 1, 2024, the first Divine Liturgy of the newly formed Pokrovsky Parish as part of the Hungarian Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church took place. Before the construction of an Orthodox church in Paksha, services will be held in the Catholic church of the Holy Spirit.
