On November 19, as part of the commemorative events on the occasion of the 102nd anniversary of the exodus of the soldiers of the Russian army of General P.N. Wrangel from the Crimea, Priest Georgy Sergeyev, responsible for the care of the faithful of the Moscow Patriarchate in Turkey, held a memorial service in the church of the Saints Equal to the Apostles Constantine and Elena, located on the territory of the summer residence of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Istanbul.
Compatriots living on the shores of the Bosphorus gathered for the funeral service.
On November 22, Priest Georgy Sergeyev celebrated a memorial service in Gallipoli (modern Gelibolu).
The service was attended by Roman Penkin, Deputy Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in Turkey, Adrian Adrianov, attache of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Turkey, and Erol Ugyurlu, President of the Russian-Turkish Friendship Association. The participants of the funeral ceremony laid flowers at the monument to Russian soldiers. After the memorial service, the participants of the event met with the Mayor of Gelibolu Mustafa Ozajar and the prefect of Gelibolu District Bekir Abadji.

In 1920-1921, the Gallipoli Peninsula housed units of the Russian army of General P.N. Wrangel, evacuated from the Crimea. On November 22, 1921, the Gallipoli Society was established – one of the active public organizations of the Russian Diaspora.
