The working visit of the delegation of the Foundation for the Support of Christian Culture and Heritage to Kenya has begun

On January 15, 2025, a delegation from the Foundation for the Support of Christian Culture and Heritage, headed by Executive Director Egor Skopenko, arrived in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, on a working visit.

On the morning of January 15, Metropolitan Konstantin of Zaraisk, Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, held a meeting with the deans of Nieri, Meru, Central and Eastern Church Districts, attended by Priest Georgy Maksimov, Chairman of the Missionary Department of the Exarchate, and Egor Skopenko, Executive Director of the Foundation. During the meeting, issues of pastoral care for believers and the development of church life in these deaneries were discussed.

After the meeting, representatives of the Foundation, together with Metropolitan Konstantin and Priest Georgy Maksimov, met with Vsevolod Tkachenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Kenya. During the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of the modern presence and prospects of Russian Orthodoxy on the African continent.

In the afternoon, the Foundation's delegation, together with Metropolitan Konstantin of Zaraysk and Priest Georgy Maximov, visited the Orthodox primary school in honor of St. Panteleimon the Great Martyr in Nairobi, which currently has 200 children enrolled. This school is the only opportunity for residents of the region to receive free primary education and get acquainted with Orthodoxy.

During the visit to the primary school, the delegation talked with the children and gave them sweet gifts.

Previously, the Foundation for the Support of Christian Culture and Heritage provided financial assistance to the educational institution in furnishing the premises.
