The delegation of the Foundation for the Support of Christian Culture and Heritage, headed by Executive Director Egor Skopenko, continues its working visit to Kenya.
On the morning of January 18, representatives of the Foundation took part in the Epiphany service (Epiphany Eve) at the Church of the Holy Grand Duke Alexander Nevsky in Oyan (Migori district). The festive service was led by the Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, Metropolitan Konstantin of Zaraisk, co-served by the chairman of the Missionary Department of the Exarchate, Priest Georgy Maximov, dean and clergy of the deanery. At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the rite of the great consecration of water was celebrated.
After the service, the Foundation's delegation, together with Metropolitan Konstantin and Priest Georgy Maximov, visited the Orthodox kindergarten at the Church of St. Alexander Nevsky. The Foundation provides financial assistance to the kindergarten in connecting electricity, installing a water tower, constructing and decorating walls, floors and bathrooms.
On the same day, the delegation visited the Orthodox parish of St. Basil the Blessed.
In addition, in the afternoon, the delegation visited the parish in honor of St. Barnabas the Apostle and the pre-school education center at the parish in the village of Aurachuodo, where Metropolitan Konstantin conducted the rite of consecration of the foundation stone of the elementary school in honor of St. George the Victorious. The Foundation provides financial assistance in catering for children, paying salaries to educators and staff, as well as in the construction of three classrooms and a kitchen.
The members of the delegation had a warm conversation with the rectors of the parishes and kindergarten students and presented them with memorable gifts.
