On December 4, 2023, a delegation of the Foundation for the Support of Christian Culture and Heritage, headed by Executive Director Egor Skopenko, paid a working visit to Israel.
As part of the trip, the delegation's guests were received by His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilus III of Jerusalem. The meeting, held in a warm atmosphere, discussed the implementation of current projects, as well as cooperation plans for 2024.
At the end of the meeting, His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilus expressed gratitude to the Foundation's delegation for coming and presented the Executive Director of the Foundation with an icon of the Mother of God. Egor Skopenko, in turn, presented Patriarch Theophilus with a hand-painted tea set produced by the Imperial Porcelain Factory.
On the same day, representatives of the Foundation met with the Director General of the Administration of Greek Orthodox Schools in the Holy Land, Audei Kuavas. The parties discussed current issues of implementing joint activities in terms of financial assistance to schools in the territory of the Jerusalem Patriarchate, as well as cooperation plans for 2024. At the end of the meeting, Audey Kuavas expressed gratitude to the Foundation for the Support of Christian Culture and Heritage for the assistance provided in the implementation of projects.
In addition, on December 4, a delegation of the Foundation visited the Church of the Annunciation over the source of the Most Holy Theotokos in Nazareth (ed. – also known as the Greek Orthodox Church of the Archangel Gabriel over the source of the Most Holy Theotokos).
The guests of the Foundation got acquainted with the progress of restoration work carried out with the support of the Foundation, and also met with representatives of the contractor, with whom they discussed the timing of the work. The contractor plans to complete the restoration work by May 2024, so that believers can attend festive services on Easter.
