A delegation of the Foundation for the Support of Christian Culture and Heritage, headed by Executive Director Egor Skopenko, arrived in Bukoba (Tanzania) on January 24, 2025 on a working visit.
Representatives of the Foundation, together with the Chairman of the Missionary Department of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa, Priest Georgy Maksimov, met with the head of the Kagera regional administration, Fatma Mwassa.
In the afternoon, the delegation, together with the dean of the Northern Church District, Priest Peter Mayune, inspected a plot of land in the village of Omugayvale, which was allocated by local authorities for the construction of a temple and a full-service educational center for the local parish. The construction is planned with the support of the Foundation.
In addition, in the same village, the delegation visited the parish in honor of the Holy Silverless Cosmas and Damian, which operates an Orthodox kindergarten. The members of the delegation talked with the children and presented them with memorable gifts and sweets.
On January 25, representatives of the Foundation, together with Priest Georgy Maximov, visited the parish in honor of the Holy Martyr Konstantin Bogorodsky in Bukoba, which was founded with the support of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa in 2024, and talked with local residents.
