On August 10, on the eve of the Nativity of St. Nicholas, Archbishop of Myra of Lycia, an evening divine service with the reading of the Akathist was performed at the St. Nicholas Church in Myra of Lycia (modern Demre, Turkey).
On August 11, when the Church celebrated the Nativity of the saint, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated in Demra, which was led by Priest Georgy Sergeyev, responsible for organizing the care of the flock of the Moscow Patriarchate on the territory of the Republic of Turkey. The service was attended by priests Alexy Golovin and Dimitri Bogatyr, clerics of the Moscow Patriarchate, who are tending the communities of the Russian Orthodox Church in Antalya and Alanya.
Several hundred pilgrims from different regions of Turkey, as well as Orthodox believers from the Russian Federation and other countries who are on vacation in the Antalya region of the country, prayed in the temple.
At the end of the Liturgy, Priest George performed a prayer chant to St. Nicholas and addressed the faithful with a welcoming speech.
