On December 5, 2021, parishioners of the Moscow Patriarchate communities in the Republic of Turkey made a pilgrimage to the city of Urgup (formerly Prokopion).
The Divine Liturgy was served in the church of the Great Martyr George the Victorious, which was performed by the priest responsible for the organization of the care of the faithful of the Moscow Patriarchate in the territory of the Turkish Republic, Georgy Sergeyev, in the concelebration of Priest Dimitri Bogatyr, who feeds the community of the city of Alanya.
After the Liturgy, a prayer service was held in the cave used at one time as a stable, where the righteous John Russian lived while in Ottoman captivity.
The head of the Russian House in Ankara, Alexander Sotnichenko, also took part in the pilgrimage trip.
